The most requested short films of the festival!  This block will feature the most talked about and most demanded second screenings of shorts from other blocks.  Expect this one to be chock full of award nominees. And because this will be a surprise affair ( no playlist will be “officially” announced ), tickets are only half the price of other screenings!

Our closing night gala honoring the best films of the festival in 10 categories including, Best Feature, Best Short, The Female Director’s Award and The Don Award for Best Feature Screenplay. (Presented by Final Draft).  Doors open at 8pm for drinks & hors d’oeurves.

THE PAYNE FAMILY AND FINAL DRAFT SOFTWARE PRESENT “THE DON” AT THE 2016 CFI FILM FESTIVAL

“The Don” Award is in memory of our friend Don Payne (1964-2013.) Don was a  supporter of up & coming writers and filmmakers.

Don Payne, a 4-time Emmy winner, was most notably recognized for his work as Writer/Co-Executive Producer on the long-running, hit animated series, The Simpsons.   His feature film work includes the screenplay for Marvel’s Thor and story for Thor 2: The Dark World.

“The Don” Award for Best Produced Independent Feature Screenplay will be given to one deserving screenwriter at the CFI Film Festival.  “The Don” is sponsored by the Payne Family and Final Draft Software.
