In June 2007, CFIFN member TIM PARKER completed his short film about a bum who can't seem to take his eyes off a certain little girl. This intense 7 minute drama was accepted into the Montreal Film Festival in July 2007. Using the resources of CFIFN (and several of it's members) Tim was able to turn out an emotional, entertaining film that is truly representative of the independent spirit. INDEPENDENT FILMMAKING
IN WILMINGTON, NC
In 2004, CFIFN member Linda Warden decided to turn the camera on us (quick everybody hide!). Interviewing group members and the independent film community at large, she actually found that filmmakers were quite willing to talk about themselves and their craft. The result is a 30 minute concentrated look at life in Wilmington through the eyes of those that make movies here. See more of Linda's work, here.
SIGHTLINES

In only it's second year in existence, CFIFN decides to hold a screenplay competition. THE PRIZE? We agreed to produce the winning script. All the way from Canada, Charles Hall sends "Sightlines", a taught, emotional piece about letting go of your preconceptions. Produced in early 2002, veteran actor Nick Searcy filled the lead role opposite local rising star, Shaun O'Rourke. Directed by Rich Gehron and filmed in two and a half days, this short was the first locally produced movie to be shot in digital High Definition (using a prototype of the Panasonic Varicam).

The 2005 winner of the CFIFN Screenplay competition, THREE APPLES FALL was produced by CFIFN member Linda Warden through her company, LCW Productions, LLC. The movie is a short fairy tale and stars Bonnie Johnson (PATCH ADAMS, PRINCE OF TIDES, SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY), Aaron Mills, Judy DuBose, and Leah Marie Parker. The crew included several CFIFN members: Alex Dale (DIRECTOR), Tisha Schiavone, Jesse Bowman, Jamie McCullough, Kim Bowman, Courtney Bowman, Margie Devoles, and Jeff Babb.
