Eighty-eight-year-old Jazz Pianist, Lee Shaw, proudly known as Albany, New York’s Queen of Jazz, has lived a diverse, accomplished, and charmed life. From the piano bench she has bravely struggled not only with being a woman in a male-dominated field, but with the financial challenges that come with pursuing a dream, and the conflict of her sharp musical mind’s residence in an ever aging vessel. As a veteran of a lifetime of music, from the finest stages in New York City to a namesake Jazz festival in Germany, then home to her birthplace in Oklahoma where she was inducted into the Jazz Hall Of Fame, Lee Shaw’s legend continues to grow.
